We purchase access to a lot of resources on your behalf so you don't have to pay. If you ever come across a paywall there are three possible causes and they all have solutions.
1. The publisher doesn't know you are from JCU so is not letting you have access to JCU subscriptions
You can let them know you are from JCU by looking for a button or link to 'Login via institution' or 'OpenAthens' and choosing James Cook University Library (OpenAthens) - which will you give you access via JCU SSO
2. You are trying to access an item we do provide access to but you are using vendor site we don't subscribe to
To ensure sure you are accessing material from vendors we subscribe to it's always best to use our search tools e.g. One Search or a database listed in our AZ
3. We do not have subscription access to the item
We don't subscribe to everything, so if you want something beyond our collection use One Search to take advantage of our free (to you) Resource Sharing service.
