Book Chapters/Journal Articles

Digital copies of journal articles and book chapters not held by the Library can be requested through One Search using our RapidILL service. You will need to be logged in to One Search to make requests.

  1. Search for your topic or title in One Search
  2. Turn on Add results beyond the library's collection filter.

  3. Click on the title of the article or book chapter

  4. Scroll down until you see Request From Another Institution. If you are not logged in already, you will see a prompt to log in here.
    If you are not logged in, under "Request from Another Institution" you will see a box with the text "Please sign in to check if there are any request options" and a link to log in. Click on that link to log in.

  5. When you are logged in, click on Request this item

  6. Check all details are filled (should fill automatically)

  7. Click Send Request

The Resource Sharing team will then locate the resource and send to the patron via their JCU email address

The cost of this service is covered by the Library and free to JCU account holders.

Physical loans

Other items (e.g. whole books) can be requested for a physical loan via our Interlibrary Loans Service where costs, timeframes and instructions are listed.
