To reference a quote from a website, you will need to reference the website itself.

If you are using a referencing style that requires page numbers for direct quotes (like APA), you can use the paragraph number instead. If the quote is in the 4th paragraph, use para. 4.

The following APA example comes from the 3rd paragraph:


… said to make them “adorable pets for young and old” (Animals Australia, n.d., para. 3).


Notice that n.d. (which stands for "no date") is used in place of the publication year when there is no date available.
