The library buildings have controlled areas for placing promotional material.

Posters and flyers that are of interest to the JCU community can be placed on the community notice boards or the tables directly in front of them.

  • In the Cairns Library building, community noticeboards are located near the printers on the First and Second Floors.
  • In the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library (Townsville), community notice boards are located near the printers on the Ground and First Floors.
  • All materials must be dated, as they will be removed after a month, or once the relevant date is past. Undated material will be considered "expired".
  • Do not take up multiple spaces on the board – leave room for others. Duplicate copies will be removed.
  • Material must not breach the Client Services Charter, and will be removed if deemed disrespectful.

JCU Departments and Services may be placed in one of our promotional locations – consultation with the Library staff is required.

  • Departments located in the Library buildings have areas for promotional materials, all other JCU Departments and Services will need to contact the Library using our Contact Form to arrange a location to put up posters or leave flyers and other material.
  • Special events or promotions may be able to used spaces outside of the normal designated areas, but this will require prior arrangement with Library staff – use the contact form to arrange a consultation.

Promotional material found elsewhere in or around the Library buildings will be removed.

If you would like to hold an event or exhibition within the Library buildings, consult the Library Exhibitions Guidelines page and submit a request.
