An International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is an eight-digit code assigned to serial publications such as journals, magazines and newspapers that are registered with the Centre for the Registration of Serial Publications (CIEPS). This number is unique to each publication and is an internationally recognised reference number used to identify a publication.
