Q. I am between employment contracts at JCU. I can't access my staff account at the Library. Can I still borrow from the library? Can I still renew the books on my library account?
I am a staff member at the university and I work on a contract basis, but I am currently not on contract. Can I still borrow library books and use the library services? What happens to the resources I currently have on loan?
Borrowing and related services, including renewal, are only available to currently employed staff. Staff whose employment is not current (contract completed, retired, etc) may be eligible to join as alumni https://www.jcu.edu.au/library/client/alumni. Please note the different, amount, and access.
JCU staff must return all information resources on ceasing employment. Overdue notices will continue to be sent to the employee email address on file, and overdue charges will be automatically generated. Please note that it is your responsibility to manage your loans and ensure your contact details with the library are up to date.
If you are also currently enrolled as a postgraduate student, or have registered as alumni, request library staff transfer your loans to this account so that notices will be sent to a current email address.
Please contact library staff before overdue charges accumulate.
