Caching errors are most simply diagnosed by copying the URL that gives you the error and pasting it into a  New Incognito window. If it works then the issue is caching, history and/or cookies.

Clearing your web history resolves a number of different issues and errors, including:

  • SSO login failures
  • Error 413
  • Error 'Too Many Redirects'
  • Bad Request - Request Too Long
  • 'Something has gone wrong and our team has been notified' accessing Readings in LearnJCU
  • A blank screen

Instructions

Firefox

  1. about:preferences#privacy (literally copy and paste this into the Firefox address bar)
  2. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section
  3. Click 'Clear data'
  4. Scroll down to the History section
  5. Click 'Clear history'
  6. Select 'Browsing & Download History'
  7. Click OK

Chrome

  1. chrome://settings/clearBrowserData (copy and paste this into the Address bar)
  2. Click Advanced
  3. Check the boxes for Browsing history and Cookies and other site data
  4. Click the Clear data button
