A case may be reported in more than one law report series. These are called parallel citations. If the case is reported in an authorised report series, use that in preference over an unauthorised report.

Example: A High Court of Australia case is reported in the Commonwealth Law Reports (authorised version) and in the High Court of Australia Transcripts. High Court of Australia cases may also be reported in the Australian Law Reports and other report series for relevant law areas such as family law, criminal law, tax law or other areas of law.
