If you are simply referring to the fact that an entire website exists, in your assignment then you include the URL for the home page in text, and you do not include an entry in your reference list.
Generally you will be using information from the website or a web document and then you must reference them as shown in the APA Guide. The difference between these two options is that the Title of the document is in italics in the Reference List,whereas the Title of the web page is not.
