The EndNote Online Premium subscription linked to the desktop software is only active for 2 years. You need to update the software to add another two years to the subcription.

  1. Check the version of EndNote Desktop you are running.  
    • Mac - Select EndNote menu > About EndNote.
    • PC - Select Help > About EndNote

  2. Check the latest version of EndNote on the EndNote website.
     
  3. If the version you are running is not the latest version
    • If you have an older version (e.g. EndNote X9 or earlier) update the software to version 20 from the EndNote Guide.
    • If you are using the current version (EndNote 20) check for updates to the program:
      • Mac - Select EndNote menu > Check for Updates > follow the prompts.
      • PC - Select Help > Check for Updates > follow the prompts.
         
  4. To check the new expiry date after the software is updated:
    • Login to EndNote Online account > Select Options > Subscription
    • Check the status and expiry date next to EndNote
