Q. What access do JCU Alumni have to online articles/databases?

JCU Subscribed Resources

All JCU alumni can access ProQuest databases and National Geographic Archives 1888-1994 for free.

Steps to gain access to these online resources:

1. Go to the alumni benefits page
2. Select ‘Online databases and electronic journals’ from the list of benefits
3. Click Login to Library databases
4. Sign in using your alumni database username and password or, if you don't already have one, click on New user registration and your access will be verified within 1-2 days

Open Access

Another option is to use Open Access resources, which you can find using One Search without needing an active JCU account.
 

Alternative Access Options

Google Scholar often provides links to free full text content.

The State Library of Queensland also has access to databases and membership is free. All Australian states and territories will provide similar access through your local public library membership.

National Library of Australia provides access to subscription eresources to registered members (membership is free and available to Australian residents).
