Q. I've uploaded my readings as PDF files to LearnJCU instead of Readings. Do I still need to have a reading list?
I have put the PDFs of journal articles and files I want my students to read directly into my subject's LearnJCU site. Do I need to use the Readings system?
Yes. In accordance with University policy, scanned materials for teaching must be uploaded and communicated from the University’s digital readings repository.
If you have uploaded pdf files outside of this repository then these resources may breach the Copyright Act 1968. To ensure university compliance all readings should be made available from the Readings platform.
The Readings platform is designed to ensure copyright compliance and avoid breaches. This cannot be adequately ensured in LearnJCU.
If you have third party material uploaded directly into LearnJCU, you should contact your Liaison Librarian to discuss moving the content into Readings and removing it from your site.
