Endnote is an effective tool to use when referencing assignments. It is software used for creating a personal library of references to articles, books and other materials you have collected during your research.

You can select and insert references from your personal Endnote library into a Word document. EndNote will create an in-text citation for the reference and also create the reference list entry at the end of the document. These entries can be configured to conform to any referencing style you choose.

JCU Library has created some EndNote tutorials to get you started using EndNote.
For more information and to download the Endnote program see the Endnote guide

Please note that if you are experiencing difficulties downloading Endnote, you can borrow an EndNote disk from the library in order to install offline.

Please note: we don't recommend EndNote for first year students as you need to be familiar with referencing and referencing styles before using EndNote. EndNote is not a "smart" tool, and you will need to check its output and correct it.
